英文摘要 Through their domestication and selection, dairy cattle have been subjected to intense artificial selection. Hereby, it is becoming increasingly evident that successful selection towards improvement of milk production traits is antagonistic to fertility. However, there is no clear consensus regarding the mechanism of the effect of milk yield on fertility. To that end we propose a response analysis to selection by examining polymorphism in candidate genes (n= 12) of the IGF-IGFBP axis and the gonadotropic axis. Consequently, scanning for differentiation using ~300 SNPs in the Chinese Holstein dairy breed (n~150) from different geographical locations (n= 3) will be performed. For comparison Holstein dairy cattle from their center of breed domestication in Northern Germany (~50) as well as Hungary (~50) and Austria (~50) will be performed to identify the main genetic regions which were affected by selection. After analyzing the population structure, we will estimate FST within and across the populations for each SNP to detect selection signals. Altogether, these observations could shed light on the antagonism, at the SNP level, between milk production and reproduction traits in highly producing dairy cows.
